CUTTLEBUG Pros: it can operate with dies from other companies, such as Quickutz, Sizzix (sizzlits: videoκαι XL: video) and Spellbinders, for cutting and embossing.
It folds up, so it gets small enough to store away easily. (25x14x17 cm high) Cons: it does not funcyion with dies that cut chippboard.
It does not accept any extension in order to accomodate long border dies, by Provocraft. You have to get those by Sizzix (Big Shot).
REVOLUTION Pros: it accepts dies from Cuttlebug and Spellbinders for cutting and embossing
it has a magnetic platform for better positioning of the dies
it is small and light (17.7x13x15 cm high)
It accepts a platform extension, for use of dies with borders 30 cm long Cons: for the use of Spellbinders dies, you must have the exptension platform and cutting mat.
it does not function with dies that cut chipboard.
BIG SHOT Pros: it accepts dies from Quickutz, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders
it has a bigger cutting surface than all the previous ones
it takes a platform extension for dies with long borders
it cuts chipboard with the Bigz dies Cons: it is big and heavy (36.2x 21.6x 16.5 cm high)
The Sizzix dies are pricy compared to other companies, epsecially the Bigz and BigzXL dies
the extension cutting mat and platform are required for the big dies
for the use of texture plates, for embossing, you need an impression pad and a silicone rubber.
